Nobel Oil Services hosted a meeting of AmCham HR Committee and introduced the major implementations in its employee compensation & benefit program to member-companies.
Leyla Novruzova, BP Human Resources Vice President and Chairperson of HR Committee opened this year’s last session by welcoming guests. Ilgar Veliyev, EY Azerbaijan Country Managing Partner and AmCham Board Member, thanked the members of Committee for constant involvement, which ensures its dynamic activity.
Ellada Alishova, Group HR Manager of Nobel Oil, provided information about the history and development of the company, its significant milestones, successfully accomplished and current projects presenting an overview of the company’s subsidiaries and affiliates.
During the meeting HR Coordinator of Nobel Oil, Jafar Yusifov, shared in detail the company’s practice in implementation of grading and job evaluation system which is aligned with the business needs and designed to ensure a path for professional development. The grading system supports efficient talent and reward program and is linked to performance management process (PMP). Realization of PMP is operated through SAP ERP system, covering not only parent company, but also its subsidiaries, creating a unified way for overall coordination. Implementation of the grading system resulted in more functional organizational structure and a fair pay system, meeting the demands of business operation.
Nobel Oil Services also shared the outcomes it achieved and provided some advice based on a real practice to the companies, which plan to undertake realization of a similar project within their entities.
Nobel Oil Services expressed its gratitude to other speakers who covered topics of mutual interest.
SOCAR, BP, Total, Wood, McDermott, AA Services, Deloitte & Touche, EY, KPMG, PwC, ADA University and other companies were among the participants.
Nobel Energy employees graduate from prestigious L.E.A.P. Program
A group of bright Nobel Energy people have successfully graduated from the Leadership Excellence and Acceleration Program (L.E.A.P.). This program, designed by NEQSOL Academy in collaboration with SDA Bocconi, aims to improve leadership capabilities and foster growth within the organization.
The L.E.A.P. program lasted a year and included 5 intensive modules delivered in Baku and Milan, along with various online tools and coaching support from SparkUs, digital coaching platform. Participants, among which were Rena Musayeva, Vusal Aghakishiyev, Rashad Sadigov, and Gulnar Mammadli, worked on projects that had direct impacts on their companies, demonstrating their ability to apply enhanced skills and knowledge in practical settings.
Rena Musayeva, Senior HR Business Partner at Nobel Energy, shared her impressions: "The L.E.A.P. project has significantly enhanced our understanding of business, expanded our vision, and broadened our network. We have gained valuable insights from esteemed professors who bring a rich blend of theoretical and practical expertise. It was truly remarkable to study in the business school that is ranked 3rd in Worldwide Global MBA Ranking."
Remarkably, Gulnar Mammadli, Lead AP Accountant at Glensol, stood out as one of the top 5 graduates with honors, among 60 participants in the program, based on her outstanding exam results and contribution to the capstone project.
The graduation ceremony took place at the SDA Bocconi Campus in Milan, where participants presented their final projects. These projects showcased their understanding of leadership dynamics, strategic acumen, and potential for driving future initiatives within Nobel Energy.

In addition to the stand, in the framework of Baku Energy Week, Nobel Energy organized two informative panel discussions. On June 4, the company hosted a panel titled ‘Breaking the Mold: Reshaping Energy Solutions’, which focused on innovative strategies employed by service providers like Nobel Energy to tackle regional and global challenges faced by major energy companies. Featuring Nobel Energy Executive Board Member Mr. Richard Duff, Vice President of SOCAR, and Mr. Cathal Kelly, Vice President of BP, and moderated by Ambassador Mr. Matthew Bryza, the panel underscored the importance of optimizing investment costs and operational efficiency while maintaining safety and quality standards. It also emphasized the critical role of technology, research, and collaboration in crafting effective solutions.
On the second day of the event, Mr. Robert Mundt, Senior Manager of Advanced Facilities and Data Center Services at Audubon Companies, joined a discussion on how AI is revolutionizing the energy sector. Together with Mr. Saravan Penubarthi, Chief Technology Director at AIQ, and moderated by AI and emerging technologies expert Mr. Emin Aliev, the panel explored AI's role in optimizing energy systems, addressing challenges, and driving the transition toward a more sustainable future. Both panels featured esteemed industry experts and provided valuable discussions on the future of energy.

A group of Nobel Energy people – mainly frontline staff across the Group companies – came together with the CEO Vugar Samadli for an informal breakfast.
The idea was to listen to the frontline employees' possible needs, ideas, talk about everyone’s experiences at the company, as well as help the staff get to know one another, learn about organizational direction and from the valuable leadership experience.
For the participants, it was both thought-provoking and inspirational to listen to the CEO’s personal career story, including the failures he experienced along the way. Mr Samadli encouraged the employees to be more courageous and resolute to try new experiences, and gave them some practicable career tips.
For many of the employees, amid their busy schedules, it was value-adding to hear about the Group’s future plans, specifically about the Group’s growth intentions, directly from the top of the company. While talking about operations, the unanimous agreement was around the criticality of safety and excellence, which as the CEO put ‘remain in the heart of all the implemented projects’.
The participants were curious to hear about Nobel Energy’s transformation plans that will see the development of a new, alternative energy business, in line with the company’s new strategy.
Thanks to the candid nature of the event, the participants felt comfortable to raise and openly discuss their concerns with the CEO. A number of issues were addressed, new ideas and suggestions about process improvement were welcomed with a plan to be followed up. All in all, the event was a success – a great platform to meet with the top leadership, ask him open questions, raise issues, share ideas, and interact with colleagues from different subsidiaries, as well as have a better sight of the big picture.
Based on the participants’ feedback, ‘Breakfast with the CEO’ – that developed into an effective communication and learning platform – will need to continue.
