Vugar Samadli

CEO and Member of the Board of Directors

Vugar Samadli is CEO and the Member of the Board of Directors at Nobel Energy with over 16 years of international experience, knowledge and expertise in the oil and gas industry.

Prior to his current role, Mr. Samadli was Chief Operating Officer of Nobel Energy. He was appointed CEO at Nobel Energy following his valuable contribution to effective management of Nobel Energy Group's operations, and support in achieving the Group’s strategic goals.

Mr. Samadli has held a number of senior management roles over the past seven years. In 2013, he assumed the role of General Director of Oil & Gas ProServ, a joint venture between SOCAR, Siemens and Target Petroleum. Before joining Nobel Energy in 2015, He was General Director of Global Energy Solutions, an affiliate of Nobel Energy.

Mr. Samadli started his career in 2003 in BP where he quickly advanced through increasingly challenging roles and projects. Following his BP tenure, he held executive positions at DET-AL Holding and Azelektroterm. In 2009-2013, Mr. Samadli worked at John Crane as a regional manager for Azerbaijan, Georgia and Central Asia.

Mr. Samadli has a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Middle East Technical University, Turkey and Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from University of Florida. He holds a diploma in Project Management from George Washington University and studied executive MBA with SMITH Group.

Currently, Mr. Samadli is carrying out a scientific research and working to defend his PhD dissertation on Chemical-Mechanical Engineering at the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences.

In 2019, Vugar Samadli was awarded ‘The Taraggi Medal’ by the President of the Azerbaijan Republic for his services in the development of the country's oil industry.

Eldar Mamedzadeh

Chief Commercial Officer

Eldar joined Nobel Energy as the Chief Commercial Officer in 2015. Mr. Mamed-zadeh brings to Nobel Energy his deep knowledge and broad experience in procurement and supply activities. He started his professional career in the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, Project Implementation Unit (World Bank), as a Procurement Manager.

He continued his career in BP Exploration as a Senior PSCM specialist and was assigned to an Indirect Procurement Category Manager position. He also worked as an Operational Procurement Manager in the Middle East Region (Oman/UAE/Jordan). In AGT region Mr. Mamedzadeh served as an Operational Procurement Manager and GWO Category Delivery Manager.

Prior to joining Nobel Energy he worked as a Procurement Materials Logistic Manager in Bahar Energy Operation Company.

In his current role he is responsible for Commercial, Business Development and PSCM activities for the entire group of companies of Nobel Energy.

The key area of his engagement is to set up a development strategy for growth and its delivery Mr. Mamed-zadeh earned his BBA from Azerbaijan Economic University and MBA from University of Cumbria (UK) and Robert Kennedy College (Switzerland) in Leadership and Sustainability and continued his education in Supply Chain Management at the Chartered İnstitute of Procurement and Supply.

Samir Mollayev

Chief Drilling Officer

Mr. Samir Mollayev has more than 15 years of international oil & gas experience, demonstrating engineering leadership, technology support and management of multidiscipline team operations in complex conditions.

Mr. Mollayev started his oilfield career with J. Ray McDermott working at Azeri-Chirag- Guneshli platforms construction yard. He continued later with Schlumberger as a Well Test Engineer moving up through the ranks to a Senior Field Engineer in the United Kingdom and Denmark.

Later Mr. Mollayev spent over a decade working with BP, where he managed to progress to the Senior Level Leader role as a Well Interventions and Integrity Engineering Team Leader. Under his leadership the team piloted several new technologies, such as customized stimulation vessel, sand shut off (expandable patch, ceramic screens and sand consolidation) technologies etc. and succeed to add up more than 40 mbd of oil into pipeline.

Mr. Mollayev joined Nobel Energy Group as Chief Drilling Officer and brought a strong work ethic, focus and passion to the role while delivering high quality project support and supervision as well as solid knowledge in managing KPIs, budgets and performance contracts. Most recently, he was appointed General Director at SOCAR AQS, joint venture between Nobel Energy and SOCAR.

Mr. Mollayev holds a Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering from the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University. During 2006-2007, he continued studies in France Paris, Schlumberger Learning Centre in the field of Well Completion & Productivity. In 2010 he successfully accomplished the Development Program in Alaska, USA, where he demonstrated leadership and experience with planning & executing coil tubing drilling as a Well Site Leader. Mr. Mollayev has presented a number of researches and articles, covering optimization of engineering technologies, innovative solutions in oilfield operations and environmental control at various international conferences, such as SPE and ISEECE.

Rauf Aghayev

Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Rauf Aghayev is a seasoned finance professional with a profound knowledge of the domain and international financial products, markets and financial tools. He is currently Chief Financial Officer Nobel Energy Group of companies where he manages the financial operations of the ventures within the holding, covering the range of the various industries and geographies.

Before his appointment to the CFO position, in 2018, Mr. Aghayev had held various senior positions in banking and financial industries including Nobel Energy Group.
Mr. Aghayev started his career in 2009, in the banking sector where he held a number of challenging roles responsible for financial analysis and effective financial modellings. In 2013, he joined Nobel Energy as a project analyst. During this tenure, Mr. Aghayev was responsible for supporting the business in the areas of financial planning, managing, and monitoring for the major local and regional projects, contributing into the design and concepts and carrying the control throughout the implementation.

Mr. Aghayev holds a Bachelor degree in Finance from Azerbaijan State Economic University. In 2020, he successfully completed his executive education at London Business School and Columbia University landing a Master of Business Administration degree from both universities.
